I asked Allah

I asked Allah for strength to help me through another day
And Allah made me strong by putting difficulties on my way

I asked Allah for courage so I would not be afraid
And Allah gave me danger that I could not evade

I asked Allah for wealth and prosperity
And Allah blessed me with a brain and clarity

I asked Allah to bless me with a friend
And Allah send me people to who’s troubles I could tend

I asked Allah for my hopes and wishes to come true
And Allah gave me opportunities to pursue

I asked Allah to give me strength in my faith
And Allah send tests to lead me from this path so straight

I asked Allah to guide the ones I love
And Allah will guide them if he wills this I’m sure of

I asked Allah for all my wishes to be granted
And Allah blessed me but gave me nothing I wanted

I asked Allah for things I did and did not need
And Allah in his wisdom send me rules to which I heed

I asked Allah for a lot of material things each day
And Allah might not give it but listens to me whenever I pray

I asked Allah for wise and merciful is he
And Allah blessed me with the truth he made me see
